After the initial push for Champions, new company boxes have started to come out (it appears one a month - because it doesn't seem like anyone else got the halflings with the Ogres). The first company out is Ogres, with their champion Arokamorra.
Of course it comes with the unit and faction order cards for the company.
There are also unit bases, and the puzzle piece (I have started labeling them to keep straight which box each came in).
Of course the new model is Arokamorra herself. I did notice a more mold lines (especially on the legs) than with the other new champion models, but these were still easily cleaned off.
The model is fairly straightforward to put together. The one thing I noted was how to put it on the included base with all the holes between the Ogre and crocodog. So it isn't initially clear, but the posts on the ogre go in the holes that DO NOT have outlines on them. I also took a picture of the legs on the base. (The tiny hole is for the bottom of her spear).
For the ogres - these are basically both Ogre Warrior sprues, and the new plastic chariot (that is now shared with the goblins and orcs).I like that Mantic is embracing multibasing much more. Sometimes it is for reasons you might not think though,. For example, the ogre boomers are not "Boomers", they are Korroka and Kurruka - specifically two ogres. Why? Because they include both Ogres sprues in the box, which makes 6 total models. 3 for Warriors and 2 for Boomers, leaving one to go on the chariot. If they made the regiment of boomers a full 3 models, then they would need one more model for the chariot.
These are a fairly straightforward faction - just go up and attack. Everyone has Crushing Strength (1) and Brutal, and Arokamorra gives another point of brutal to everyone within 9".
With the lowest model county of any company, and some of the easiest rules (which is saying quite a bit since Champions does not have a complex rule set) I can see this as being one of the most popular sets.
Because it is all fun and games . . .
