Da Warpath: Jellyfish

The plan is to get one of those little clear plastic gumball containers, then maybe add some strands of fishing line around the outside. Then use clear Valejo water effects to bulk up the tentacles and body. Add a little white paint in the center and bulk up a central stalk that hides the brass rod holding it to the base.

I'll have to give it a try and see what happens!

So here is the start:

If this doesn't work out then my next idea is to simply check out the fishing lures (rubber worms, etc) at Wal-Mart and see what I might be able to make out of them.

Da Warpath: Fanatic about Pamela

ok, just a few more updates.

I spent the weekend taking my son to the 2nd round of 'Ard Boyz (he got 6th), so I didn't have much time to paint, though I did take advantage of the huge bins of bits at The Game Room in Toledo, Ohio (a highly recommended store for anyone in that neck of the woods (Daryl also has his bits out at Adepticon, Origins and Gencon every year)) to get the pieces for two of the fanatics:

The third one will be a jelly fish - that is a bit trickier as I want it to basically be clear - so it can't be made out of greenstuff.

And an updated WIP of the shaman

Da Warpath: She sells sea shells

Progress report:

I didn't like the little molded banner that came with the skull pass night goblins, so I swapped it out, and made the basing consistent on all the night goblins. Painting, shells and sand later and they are all done except for the whatever is going on the banner - I don't know what to put on there yet.

Savage orcs & boar boyz are primed, as are the jet skis. I found some great pin stripes at the hobby shop for them - unfortunately they are $10 per color, and I would want more than one color. I need to look to see if I can find some that have multiple colors on them, as my skills at paint perfect straight lines leave much to be desired.

So the only thing left to assemble are the fanatics - and I'm thinking now of doing an octopus, squid and jellyfish for the three fanatics.

As always, comments are encouraged.

First, finally getting the jetski's built:

and also getting the BSB put together:

m not sure how I'm going to do the sail yet - but that is the last piece after it is painted, so I have time to figure it out.

Da Warpath: Heroes

I decided to do a head swap on the general - I think this one looks better and is more savage. He is riding a three wheeler on the beach

I also got the shaman and built the watchtower for her

She needs a little cleanup, and some rope added - though the rope is easiest to do after painting.

Da Warpath: Forest Goblins

and now some forest goblins:

First, the crab riders are done (except for the character, he still needs some work):

In addition, the howdah is complete for the Arachanarid - though I haven't really done much with lobster itself

I'll mount the howdah once the rest of the model is painted.

So what is next? The general is ready to paint. The base of the shaman model is at the store ready to be picked up, but I need 1 more savage orc boy to convert to the BSB - trying to decide if I should piece him out on ebay or just buy another box of 10 there (because we all what a waste it would be to have more models available :-)). Need to build the jetskis. That then leaves 3 units and the spider to paint, then finally a display board - and I've got just under 7 weeks before the first tournament I plan to use them in. So far so good.

Da Warpath: A bit Crabby

I swear sometimes life just gets in the way of painting. I do have some updates. First the crabs:

The goblins are almost done and will soon be on their mounts.

And some finals of the mermaid - except I still need to work on the tramp stamp:
