That's where we wanna go

It may not be Kokomo, but the last month Mantic released some new non-ship packs for Armada, including a Fantasy Terrain Pack.

Part of the new "Seas of Dread" supplement deals with new interactive terrain rules - so of course Mantic produced a pack of the various terrain pieces in the book.

Most of these terrain pieces are single piece

The skull island is a single piece.

As are the Fortune Rocks

One of the magical sandbanks is a single piece

The other, however, has your choice of three effect markers (these are just for flavor, not having any game effect)

One is a wizards tower, the second is an idol to an elder god, and the third is a flaming pyre.

The volcano actually comes in two pieces

The pieces did not fit perfectly, however a tiny bit of greenstuff (or liquid greenstuff) will take care of it.
Finally the pirate headquarters is two pieces

Of course all of these terrain pieces may also be used as normal terrain, just looking cool.

In addition to the Fantasy terrain, Mantic released a Fortifications pack.  Fortification rules were introduced in Seas Aflame, though I would expect these to be more for narrative games than competitive (because not many people want to spend points that caot take objectives).

The four fortifications are all single piece models

In addition there are four battlements, with 4 canons and 4 mortars.

This allows you to take any mix of mortar and canon fortifications.

Of course the canons and mortars can also be placed on the fortifications to make them look even more dangerous!

My favorite new pack however are the new Sea Monsters!

There are four monsters in the set, with the rules for using them in supplement.

First, the smallest ones, are a pair of single piece Giant Merfolk

It is often said that two heads are better than one.  In that case, then three heads are better than two.  So of course we have a hydra!

The three heads all have different connections to the three body 'stalks'

Of course, what is the most classic sea monster than the Sea Serpent (well maybe the Kraken - but that model is from the Trident Realm Kings of War army.

The two body pieces have a socket connection to put them together.

Finally, the big guy is a rampaging Narwhale

Of course, I wanted to compare it to the Trident Realm XL named 'ship', the Bull Leviathan.  Of course the natural version doesn't have armor and spear guns on it.

So monsters, fortifications and interactive terrain.  Cool new stuff for all the Armada players until the Abyssal Dwarfs come out!

Because it is all fun and games . . .
