Coming this October is the hotly anticipated 3rd edition of Kings of War. Pre-orders are up on the Mantic web site, or even better would be have your FLGS get them for you. Ordering (and buying) from your local store is a great way to help build your local community (and maybe even get your store to stocking more products as they come out).

First off is the new 3rd edition rule book. This is listed as a limited edition hardback - so I'm personally hoping that means a gamer's edition will be coming soon (I really like the smaller softbound book for taking with me).

We have seen all these Nightstalkers in the army and mega-army (though I am interested in seeing how they are packaged - since the Butchers and Horror did not share the same sprue for Vanguard). The same for Snow Trolls and the Ice Kin Master Hunter (or is it a new model?)

Some interesting information here. Of course this is several of the new plastic sprues. The second item though is also new - resin conversion bits for the existing hard plastic naiads (to make ice naiads)
The Naiads, Half Elf Berserkers, Ice Kin Hunters, Huscarls, and Snow Trolls are all the existing Vanguard models - so you get 10 baggies of these.
However you also get resin bits to make the 10th troll a Prime. I'd like to see this come out separately (or at least the bits for it).
Finally is a new Thegn rider for the frost fang. Again it would be nice if they eventually offered this separately.
One sneaky bit are the snow foxes. This is not a unit you can buy - I believe they are the 'pets' on the new plastic sprues.
