Ok, this looks real cool for a TWD:AoW tournament.  Makes me wonder if we have enough players in this area to host one?

Then two weeks later (October 20th) come new releases for Kings of War and Dungeon Saga

Undead Revenant King on Undead Wyrm
MGKWU203
£29.99/€39.99/$49.99
Wyrms are distant relations of the great drakes that inhabit the mountains of Mantica. Ferocious and tough, they adapt quickly to suit their environment, giving rise to the sea-wyrms of the Naiads, or the sand-wyrms found in the deserts of the south. Ancient human kings favoured these creatures as mighty steeds and were often buried with them, only to be resurrected to fight once again.
Contents:
  • 1 Revenant King on Undead Wyrm
  • 75mmx75mm Base
Miniature is made from resin and is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

My question is since I just added one to my demo undead army, do I now replace it with the new Mantic one?

Undead Wyrm Wings Upgrade Pack
£9.99/€14.99/$19.99
While a Revenant King on an Undead Wyrm is terrifying enough to face, one mounted on a winged Wyrm is worse still. Taking to the sky on leathery, decaying pinions, these vicious creatures swoop down upon isolated victims, devouring them whole. When a winged Wyrm soars above the battlefield, nowhere is safe.
Contents:

  • 2 Resin Decayed Wings
  • Each wing Measures approximatly 160mm/6"
Miniatures supplied unassembled and unpainted. Requires superglue. DOES NOT INCLUDE WYRM!

Dwarf Steel Behemoth
MGKWD401
£29.99/€39.99/$49.99
These innovative fighting vehicles are powered by ingenious internal combustion engines fuelled by the black blood of the earth. Protected by thick metal plates and equipped with flame-spittng weaponry, they are a nightmare made manifest for the Dwarfs’ enemies.
Contents:
  • 1 Steel Behemoth
  • Dwarf crew
  • 100mmx50mm Base
Miniature is made from resin and is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

How do I fit this into my dwarf demo army?  The Greater Earth Elemental is 160, the cannon is 110, and drop the rifles to a troop (saves 40) - add in this plus a Standard Bearer and a throwing mastiff for one of the regiments.

Not only is Mantic releasing two cool new monsters, but they are also putting out some army deals including them.  Dwarfs, Undead, Abyssal Dwarfs, Elfs and Abyssals are all getting a Monster Bundle and Mega Monster Bundle - that includes a game edition rule book, the new monster for that race, and their starter or mega army.  All for £84.99/€119.99/$129.99 for the starter Monster Bundle or £119.99/€159.99/$194.99 for the Mega Monster Bundle!

These are listed on the Mantic web store, though they haven't flipped the switch to allow you to pre-order them yet.  They may also be in limited quantities and will only be available until October 20th!

I want this.  I have three friends (shut up you in the back - I actually have LOTS of friends) that have been going through all the DS adventures with me as the Overlord - we just have the dragon (and now this) to finish.

I was originally concerned because I asked if the EoA heroes were going to be included, and I was told no.  Now they are - I do wonder if these are the same as being sold individually (and just pre-assembled) or are new sculpts.  Of course it doesn't ship until three weeks after the campaign is over.

Edit (10/3/17) It has been confirmed that these are one piece - however this doesn't change my original question - are these pre-assembled versions of the previous released sculpts or new one piece sculpts. Since they are specified as resin AND the pictures sure seem to be the EoA heroes, I suspect they are simply pre-assembled.

It has also been mentioned that you may need to have the Infernal Crypts expansion for this as well.

Because it is all fun and games . . .

Comments

  1. Hey Mike, Andy from Mantic here.

    1. Of course you should use the new Wyrm. I'm painting it at the moment and it's captivating! (Plus, at that price, how could you not ;) )

The wings have to hell seen and held to be believed. At that price everyone will want a set for their bits box. It's a steal!

    2. As for Eye of the Abyss, the EDGE of the Abyss models will not be included - because these are new, one-piece casts! (Known henceforth as EYE of the Abyss models.)

    Mau-ti-bu-su is particularly jaw-dropping as one-piece!

The value on this set (it includes 9 Abyssals too) is insane.
