October SW Ohio Mantic Pathfinder News

Ah - the summer heat is gone and the pleasant fall weather is here (for at least a little while).  So of course that means spending more time indoors playing games!!!

The tournament year is starting to wrap up, but it isn't over yet.  The qualifying spots for the midwest masters region have been tightly contested, and the final 7th and 8th place positions could still be up for grabs.  Dragon-Fall is Oct 20 & 21 in Chicago - while small it is still a full qualifier.  Then Slaughterfest at Recess games in Cleveland is coming up on November 11th, and the 3rd annual Gem City Massacre is back at Epic Loot in Centerville on December 2nd (Check out the events on the Ohio War Kings facebook group for more information).

Not only that, but have you seen the awesome new monsters that Mantic is releasing?  The Tree Herder is already out, but late this month comes the Dwarf Steel Behemoth and the Revenant King on Undead Wyrm (with a separate pack of wings available for it).  Then in December the Vampire on Undead Dragon is coming out (yes, it is the same body/wings as the Revenent king, but a different head and rider).  Not only that, but Fire Elementals are coming to warm your winter.  Both a Greater Fire Elemental and Fire Elemental Regiment set are being released.

Mantic has announced that the Veer-myn tunnelers have arrived and are being sent out.  They plan on announcing once these wave 2 shipments are complete (I'm not holding my breathe for mine, as they seem to go out on the last day more often than not).

But not only is the warehouse busy shipping these out - but Star Saga wave 1 is still on track to ship this month, with the plan for it to be available commercially by Christmas.  Mantic has asked the patherfinders to do a big push for this, so if you want to give this new dungeon crawl (in SPACE!!!) game a shot, watch the Ohio War Kings facebook group for when and where I'll be doing demos in late October / November (of course some of that depends on when my grand-daughter decides to make her appearance this month as well :-)). (I'm too young to be a grandfather!).

Dreadball 2 is getting ready to ship to backers before Christmas as well, with the commercial release first quarter next year.

Deadzone has the new GCPS models and rules available, as well as an update to the Asterian rules on their website.  So if you have been wanting to try out these new rules they are finally available.  As for the possible Deadzone tournament - things are still pending there.  It may have to get pushed back if we can't lock it down soon.

The Walking Dead wave three is out - and this time it is the prison expansion (Safety Behind Bars).  If you haven't picked up very popular game yet, they have a new "Collector's Edition" available for a limited time - which included the show exclusive miniatures for 2018 eary - One Legged Dale, Scott Moon and Walker Rick Grimes!

We are working on a date and venue for the upcoming Kings of War GT in late April / early May.  We plan to have this locked down by the end of the month so planning can begin in earnest.  This should fall nicely between Adepticon and Origins.

Speaking of Origins - I am still thinking about changing up the Kings of War tournament there to be a 5 round, 2 day event.  Three rounds on Saturday afternoon / evening and 2 more on Sunday morning.  Remember regiment and above members of the Ohio War Kings will be able to pre-register for full five day passes to Origins for half off!

We have more of the Ohio War Kings messenger bags for sale - still only $20!  Ohio War Kings dice are $1 each, or 6 for $5.00, and we even have some shirts in stock ($25 each) as well.

If once a month isn't enough of my nonsense, check out my blog at http://blog.untilsomebodylosesaneye.net/ .  Somehow this past year I've managed to find enough to update twice a week (Monday and Thursday at 6:00 pm) and I hope to continue to share my bizarre thoughts with everyone.  I do take requests if there is something you really want me to babble on about.
